Technical production plans being reviewed by an engineer

Process & Quality

Improve consistency and technical control

An unexplained loss, a filtration problem or a batch outside its reference is an operating signal. Process and quality work turns an agreed technical finding into controls that the production team can apply and review.

01

Separate the signal from the assumed cause

Variation, filtration issues, unexplained yield and bottlenecks may be described with the same broad word: quality. They do not necessarily require the same intervention. Identify the affected batch or process stage, the reference and the point at which the difference becomes observable.

If the cause or baseline is still uncertain, begin with a diagnostic. This service focuses on correction, implementation and control once the technical question is sufficiently defined.

Establish the cause and priorities with a diagnostic
02

Build a baseline the operation can use

Connect sample identity, analytical and sensory findings, production records and relevant operating conditions. For a yield question, state what is being measured and over which process boundary before comparing figures.

A baseline is useful when the team can repeat the comparison. Record missing evidence and changes in inputs or execution so an apparent improvement is not confused with a different measurement context.

03

Test the explanation before changing the control

Agree which observation would support a proposed cause and which would challenge it. Keep the sequence of tests and changes traceable. Introducing several changes without a usable comparison can leave the team unable to explain the result.

For filtration or off-profile liquid, the work must relate the observation to the actual samples and process. A generic remote recommendation cannot replace that evidence.

Where the liquid needs reformulation, review product development
04

Transfer controls with clear responsibilities

Implementation connects the agreed action with operating instructions, records and the checks needed to assess it. Define who carries out the action, who reviews the evidence and what would trigger another technical review.

The aim is a method the client team can use. Acceptance criteria and follow-up depend on the assignment; this page does not promise a fixed increase in yield or a universal operating result.

For cellar and cask controls, explore aging and blending
05

Relevant work in quality and operations

At J. Armando Bermúdez, the work included filtration, water and record controls alongside maturation and blending work. At Alcoholes y Añejos Monagas, the work included facility and process layout, quality-management documentation and audit. Both assignments connected technical review with the operating context.

Project questions

Before you begin.

What evidence is needed for inconsistent batches?

Start with identified affected and reference samples, their batch and process records, relevant analytical and sensory results, and the changes made between them. The useful set depends on where the deviation is observed. Do not assume that every different batch has the same cause.

How does this differ from the diagnostic?

The diagnostic establishes the problem, evidence gaps and priorities. Process and quality work addresses the agreed corrective action, operating controls and transfer to the team. The boundary between phases is set by what the evidence supports.
